June 13, 2009 - Legislative Luncheon & HIstory of IAD
On Saturday at Noon is the Legislative Luncheon. During or after lunch, we will have Tom Benizer on the History of IAD. For some of you who may have seen a previous presentation at the 2005 IAD Conference which was very inspiring! There were stories about the Deaf from many many years ago and the struggles that IAD overcame over the past century. The changes and how life improved better for the Deaf Community. Our lives today are BETTER because of the struggles the Deaf Community of the past have accomplished. It is important to continue to remember the history of IAD and Tom will be presenting this again for us! Deaf Community of the past didnt have all of the things we have today: Pagers, VPs, Technology, etc. Deaf Community of the past traveled far just to be together. This is part of the presentation to remind our Deaf Community of the History of IAD and the struggles we have overcome. It is the kind of presentation that is worth seeing many times! For those of you who haven't experienced this presentation will truly enjoy and appreciate it!
