Hello! My name is Nick Ziemer. I am the Co-Chairperson for the 2009 IAD Conference. This is truly an EXCITING TIME! The conference will be at the Chateau Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington, Illinois. This will take place on June 11-13, 2009! This is an EXCITING time for the Deaf Community from all over to gather together to the 3-Day conference! Why? This year is a really UNIQUE year in our state and our country for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community all over! This VLog will be in sections to help explain what is going on for your preparation to the 2009 IAD Conference!

June 11-13, 2009 - 2009 IAD Conference Combo Prices!

Ok, let me take some time to explain the cost for the 2009 IAD Conference Combo Prices this summer. We realize that in the past few months, there have been some confusion as to the time phase of Combo prices. We also are very aware of the serious downturn in the economy that is affecting all of us, including the Deaf Community. People all over the country have become nervous and are saving their money, not sure what will happen the the future. This is extremely important because this 2009 IAD Conference will be completely different than all of its conferences in the history of IAD. This Conference is about GIVING BACK to the Deaf Community!

One of the giving back to the Deaf Community is the 3-Day Conference Combo Price. This Combo Price will include 3 days of workshops, events, forums, meetings, entertainment, food (in some areas). FYI: This 3-Day Conference Combo price does NOT include the Hotel stay. Hotel pricing is a separate expense.

Non IAD Member - $125
DayRate only - $75 per Day
Student with ID - $50

This is an exciting time for all of us! As you have seen on the previous VLog from Dana Craig - Chairperson for the 2009 IAD Conference, she explained several events that are happening in the Conference. This VLog will explain in detail.

Stipend Assistance in Detail

Ok, now many of you may have been affected by the downturn of the economy. Some people cannot afford for the 3-Day Conference, there is assistance that is called Stipend Assistance. It is a form that you fill out which you are asking for financial assistance to help pay to attend the 2009 IAD Conference. This is for individuals who TRULY CANNOT afford to attend, but want to attend.

(Example of the Stipend Assistance Form is shown)

After having seen this form, you fill out your name, address, contact information, etc. You can give this to any of the 2009 IAD Conference Committee. You can also go to your local Center for Independent Living for assistance in filling out the form.
